The Traeger Ranger, a portable wood pellet grill, is a game-changer for outdoor enthusiasts who want to enjoy delicious, smoky flavors on the road. Before jumping into the Traeger Ranger recipes, make sure you have the below equipment to make your smoking process much easier. 

1. Smoky BBQ Chicken Skewers

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into cubes
  • 1 red bell pepper, cut into chunks
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, cut into chunks
  • 1 red onion, cut into chunks
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Skewers

Instructions

  1. Preheat your Traeger Ranger to 375°F.
  2. Thread the chicken, bell peppers, and onion onto the skewers, alternating as you go.
  3. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Brush with BBQ sauce.
  5. Grill the skewers for about 20 minutes, turning occasionally and brushing with more BBQ sauce until the chicken is cooked through and slightly charred.

2. Smoked BBQ Baby Back Ribs

Ingredients

  • 1 rack of Baby Back Ribs
  • 2 tsp salt 
  • 1 tsp pepper 
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tsp smoked paprika 
  • 2 tsp dried parsely flakes
  • 4 tbsp coconut sugar
  • BBQ Sauce 

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your Traeger Ranger to 250°F.
  2. Mix together all spices and coconut sugar 
  3. Remove membrane on back of ribs and season with spice blend.
  4. Place seasoned Baby Back ribs onto a large enough piece of heavy duty aluminum foil and wrap tightly. 
  5. Place into the smoker (meat side up) and let them cook for about 5 hours. 
  6. After 5 hours, remove the ribs and loosly unwrap from aluminum foil to lather with BBQ sauce.
  7. Leaving the aluminum foil open, place ribs back onto the grill for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove and let sit covered for about 30 minutes

***(these are fall off the bone ribs, if you do not like your ribs that way, I would recommend following the 2-1-1 method you can read about here.)

3. Campfire Smoked Burgers

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1-2 tsp Lawry's Seasoned Salt 
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • Lettuce, tomato, and pickles for toppings
  • Ketchup and mustard

Instructions

  1. Preheat your Traeger Ranger to 225°F.
  2. Mix the ground beef, form into 4 patties, and sprinkle with the Lawry's Seasoned Salt. About 5" in diameter and 1/2" in thickness
  3. If you have meat thermometer, stick it in the burger. If not, keep a close watch on your burgers and make to check the temperature minmally so the heat won't always leave the smoker. Place burgers on grill and wait until internal temperature is 130°F (about 30 to 45 minutes).
  4. Once the target internal temp of 130 is reached, remove the burgers and turn the smoker up to 450°F. When the smoker is ready, place the burgers back on and sear on each side for roughly 2 minutes.
  5. During the last 2 minutes of grilling, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and toast the buns on the grill. Remove. 
  6. Assemble the burgers with lettuce, tomato, pickles, and your favorite condiments.

4. Grilled Veggie Packets

Ingredients

  • 1 zucchini, sliced
  • 1 yellow squash, sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 red onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Aluminum foil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your Traeger Ranger to 375°F.
  2. Toss the vegetables with olive oil, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. Divide the vegetables between four pieces of aluminum foil. Fold the foil into packets.
  4. Grill the packets for about 15-20 minutes, shaking occasionally, until the vegetables are tender.

  • 4 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
